Firebase (Google)
- Services Used: Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Analytics, AI
- Data Collected: Email, name, usage analytics, chat data
- Purpose: User authentication, data storage, and AI services

Google Sign-In
Data Storage and Security
- Cloud Storage: Your data is stored securely in Google Cloud Firestore with encryption at rest and in transit.
- Local Storage: Some data is cached locally on your device for offline access.
- App Group: Data is shared between the main app and Safari extension via secure iOS App Groups.
- Security Measures: We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data.
Safari Extension
Our Safari extension:
- Monitors browsing activity to identify potential triggers
- Stores all browsing data locally on your device
- Does NOT send browsing history to our servers
- Only sends reflection trigger events (without URLs) if you choose to create a reflection
Data Sharing
We do NOT sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.
We may share your information only in the following circumstances:
- With Your Consent: When you explicitly authorize us to share specific information
- Service Providers: With trusted third parties who help us operate our app (Firebase/Google)
- Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights

Children's Privacy
Curious is not intended for children under 17. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 17. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 17, please contact us immediately.

AI and Machine Learning
- Cloud AI: Chat features use Google's Gemini AI, which processes your messages according to Google's privacy policy
- Training Data: Your personal data is NOT used to train AI models
- RAG System: Book knowledge is embedded locally and privately

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:
- Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
- Sending an in-app notification for significant changes
